We’ve been to a few Makers Markets in Cheshire and Manchester where our bar has complemented the delicious home made goodies on offer like mouth watering cheeses, pies, pickles, cakes, samosas, burgers; the list is endless and all are produced locally. There were also some beautiful artisan stalls selling handmade wooden gifts, silk flower displays, prints and so much more - wow! very creative people. On Mothering Sunday, it was lovely to see so many families out treating mum (and themselves) to a glass or two of fizz; it's a good job we had plenty of bottles chilling!
It is at these markets we took the opportunity to promote some local small batch gins from around the North West and proved to be very popular with our customers who gave some very positive feedback...
Hunter’s Cheshire Gin - Subtle citrus overtones with a spicy fruit edge using apples from historic Norton Priory Garden’s ancient orchard.
Manchester Gin - Along with Dandelion and Burdock Root, an award-winning signature gin made up of ten other specially sourced botanicals including orange and lemon, liquorice and ground almond.
Turncoat Liverpool Gin - This unique gin incorporates Cascade Hops in it’s flavour profile. Cascade is the founding father of the Craft Beer Revolution. Head distiller, previously a craft brewer himself, has been working with hops for many years and uses the vapour method to extract all the flavour and aroma of this giant of hops.
The cherry on the cake was finding a stall selling a Spiced Rum from Manchester Still Inc. which we will be serving over ice with ginger ale and a slice of lime next time!
